Weight Pull
Whilst both Inca and Finn
have had a go at weightpull in the past, it was only in the 2008/2009 season that we started
attending competitive weight pull events with them. The AMCUK hold a
series of weight pull events at Allerton Park in Yorkshire where by
sled dog breeds can compete and Malamutes can earn legs towards their
WWPD (Working Weight Pull Dog) and WWPDX (Working Weight Pull Dog Excellent)
titles. On his first competitive pull, Finn earned a leg towards his
WWPD title by pulling 1200lbs. He could have pulled more however I decided
to withdraw him at this point as he had done extremely well getting
a leg on his first ever pull.
We then attended three further pulls in the 2008/2009 season, Finn completing a leg at each of them.

In the AMCUK Championship Finn came 5th in the 81 - 100 lbs class out of 27 dogs. This is a great achievement considering we only did 3 of the 8 pulls!
